Financial institutions are considered part of the nation’s critical infrastructure. So rest assured, even if the Governor or other authorities shut down other retail establishments, banks and financial institutions, like grocery stores and pharmacies, will be able to remain open to serve you. Our services may look different and many of our employees may be working from home, but our drive-ups and call center will continue to function as normal to serve your needs. And, our self-service platforms like online banking and MARS will continue to function seamlessly 24/7.
Be on the lookout for scammers taking advantage of the fears mounting over coronavirus (COVID-19). Some of these companies are claiming their products can treat or prevent coronavirus (COVID-19). Others may be promoting awareness and prevention tips and may be asking you to donate to victims. These scams are coming as emails and posts and can contain malicious attachments. There are even reports of people knocking on people’s doors claiming to be with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The CDC is not deploying teams to conduct surveillance. Be cautious and do your research. To keep a pulse on the most up-to-date information visit the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and Prevention and the World Health Organization (WHO).
Lastly, members have expressed concern about their ability to access their accounts and to obtain cash. The credit union is monitoring all branch activity and is ready to meet any potential increased demand, although we are not seeing any increased demand at this time. Remember, you can continue to use debit cards and checks to access your checking accounts including getting cashback from point of sale transactions from most merchants. Our ATMs are still functioning nationwide along with our drive-ups which are open to meet your cash withdrawal needs and will continue to be throughout this crisis. In addition, our call center is available to answer questions, take loan applications, transfer funds, reset passwords or help set you up for our online banking.
